  35. The dune2patch and ail drivers do not work correctly on my machine.  I
  36. follow all the steps but when I play the game, it searches on my and b
  37. floppies while it says initiallizing MT-32, and then quits saying not
  38. enough memory.  I am sure I have enough memory though.

  40. Has anyone gotten this to work with dune 2?

  42. I run QEMM v.7, have 8 megs of ram and a microsoft mouse driver loaded.

  54. from epas and wuarchive without any luck.

  56. I'm after the 2.06L stuff and the Miles drivers; if anybody can give me an
  57. alternative route for getting these, I'd be eternally grateful.

  186. Frankly, the excuse for all the missing registration cards sucks.
  187. Anyone who's move _knows_ about leaving a forwarding address, and those
  188. lasts 4 months.  You can then extend it or something silly, and there is
  189. always the central database with the address changes.

  191. Besides, any company that receive any mail should know about this.  It's
  192. not like it's 4 buddies in a 5 1/2 that are changing location, it's a
  193. whole company!

  195. In any case, I had an idea about 5 minutes ago when I heard the last
  196. person whine about not receiving their registration disk (I haven't,
  197. either) : why not start an email server, somewhere, for the damn disks?
  198. The way I see it, people don't care for the _disks_, they want the
  199. _software_ on it.  If it's GUS-related, only GUS-users have any use for
  200. it.  So what if people copy it?  It'll only be used by GUS users, no?
  201. Unless of course powerchord and all support other cards.

  203. I'm programmer, and I haven't yet played with my GUS SDK.  Simply
  204. haven't had time.  But the way things are going, it's easy to see that
  205. every driver GUS has released so far has been far from stable, except
  206. maybe 1.20 - 1.22, which some people still swear by.  :) I wonder,
  207. withall the patches they keep coming up with if the code is not totally
  208. cluttered up with useless junk.  You simply can't attack a problem like
  209. this with a-patch-a-problem.  Maybe Linux IS the way to go - you get
  210. source with most everything, and thus you have a bunch of people
  211. workingon it from different angles.  Problems are found much more
  212. quickly.

  225. Well, I have tried everything to get the GUS to play the digital sounds on
  226. syndicate, and as of yet, I have only been able to get the background music.
  227. 'Digital sounds' are gunshots, the sound of the explosions, people on fire
  228. screaming, time bombs ticking (you really need to hear these), and the sound
  229. the terminal screen makes when they fade in and out.  My setup is all
  230. default 220,7,7,11,5.  IF anyone has any ideas, just pass them my way...thanks

  241. I just purchased and loaded Soft Karaoke on my PC.  For those unfamiliar
  242. with the product, it's a Windows based program which uses MIDI files
  243. combined with the words of the song in text format to emulate a
  244. Karaoke machine.  It's quite fun, and sounds great with a GUS.
  245.  
  246. Here's my problem.  I have a GUS with 1Meg and am using the default
  247. Windows/GUS MIDI mapper.  I am also loading the 1024K patch set. 
  248. The program allows me to change the
  249. various instruments (such as the instrument which is playing the melody).
  250. It appears as if some instrument patches are not loading as selecting
  251. some of them yields no output.  Should I alter the patch map?  Is
  252. there something else I should check?

  254. In general, all of the songs play with their default instruments.
  255. I'd also recommend the program for fun party entertainment.

  267.     I'm getting TIRED of this!  We're in july and I never saw the
  268. color of the Gravis' Disks box.  I wrote to John Smith and he told me that
  269. I was in their database and my address was correct.  The question is: Did
  270. they sent a package with my name & address on it?  C'mon!  It's almost
  271. impossible that Canada Post would take more than a month to deviler a
  272. package in their own country!  I'm living in New-Brunswick.  Anyone else
  273. have this problem??!?!  I'm getting TIRED and PISSED!

  312. compelled to put in my $0.02 worth and perhaps make some sense of
  313. the situation. Now Tim. You can scream, kick, go down to Gravis with
  314. a machine gun and shoot everyone in sight. But the bottom line is, 
  315. they've sent it all out. It's all in the hands of the postal service.

  332. utoronto.edu.  Can't connect to either archive.epas.utoronto.edu or
  333. klingon.epas.utoronto.edu for this reason.  Is there something wrong?  I
  334. have no problem connecting to other sites.
